'HOW TO INSTALL THE TRI-C ENGINEERING HOOD
KIT'
Page 4 |
26)
The other bracket fits into a slider in
the upper structure, as seen here. When
you receive the kit, the slider hole is
already
in the upper brace structure. |
 |
 |
| 27)
The upper hood brace should be attached
to the car before the top hood section is
permanently connected to the brace. Here,
the hood top is placed on the car. |
28)
The hood top should be centered in the hood
opening with a small space at the front
and rear. When the top was positioned correctly,
the hood was clamped to the framework to
keep it from shifting. |

29)
Using the holes in the lower brace as a
guide, the hood top was drilled in the front
and rear. |

30)
After the holes were drilled, the hood top
was pop-riveted to the upper brace. |

31)
The final step is finishing the
latch mechanism. Here, a cable is installed
in the side of the latch housing. This cable
will run from the latch on the passenger
side to the latch on the driver’s
side. |

32)
The inner latch mechanism was installed
in the latch housing and the cable was attached.
|

33)
After the cable was installed, the small
spring was inserted in the mechanism. It’s
a good idea to lubricate this mechanism
to make sure it works easily.
|
34)
After the cable is connected and the mechanism
is lubricated, the top can be installed
with four small Allen screws.
|

35)
The cable from the passenger side was routed
around and connected to the latch housing
on the driver’s side. |

36)
The cable that connects to the pull knob
on the inside of the car was routed through
the hole in the firewall and will be connected
to the latch housing. |
