37) Here is the latch attached to both cables with the spring installed. When the cable
is pulled from the inside of the car, the other cable will activate the mechanism
on the other side of the car.

38) The mechanism was lubricated and then the top was installed with four Allen screws. 39) The striker on the top hood section is in perfect alignment with the latch on the bottom hood brace.

40) Four of these pins will have to be fabricated to hold the bottom of the hood in place. This is basically a bolt that was cut off, and the head was machined into a bullet shape.
The Amazing Hood Kit41) The frame was drilled and tapped and then the small pin was installed. One is located close to the firewall and the other is close to the radiator.

42) After the pins were installed, the hood was modified with brackets that will connect to the pins to hold the lower section of the hood side in place. Care should be taken to make sure the side panel is centered before the brackets are welded on.
43) After the lower pins are installed, the upper portion of the side panels can be installed. Here, the upper section is clamped to the hood side brace.

44) Two small screws will connect the hood side to the brace. Here, one hole is drilled with the proper-size drill bit for tapping.

45) After the hole was drilled into the hood side and the brace, the side was removed and the hole was countersunk. Then the hole was tapped for the appropriate screw size.

46) The hood side was reinstalled and the screw was connected to the brace. As the screw is tightened, it will form its own depression in the hood side.

47)
Here is the hood side after it was installed. There is a screw in the front and one in the rear, which should be enough to hold it securely in place. Notice how the hood opens in the front for a unique appearance.
